How to develop green packaging can be considered from the following aspects:

1. Vigorously increase and develop green packaging materials

(1) to rapidly increase paper packaging and improve the quality and grade of paper packaging materials, the key is to increase the proportion of wood pulp, so we should implement the integrated development of forest, pulp and paper as soon as possible

(2) actively promote the development of metal packaging and make glass packaging develop towards high-grade and lightweight

(4) develop natural plant fiber materials and vigorously develop bamboo packaging with rich reserves in China; Encourage the development of reed, bamboo and Bagasse Pulping and papermaking, and improve the quality of pulp molding and other products using plant fibers as raw materials, such as using corn stalks as raw materials to produce biodegradable mulch, and using starch and plant fibers as raw materials to produce expanded "foam" materials

It is required that the packaging made of the selected materials should not only meet the protection, advertising and explanation of products, but also reduce the cost of packaging technology as much as possible. In the face of packaging materials and their impact on the environment, they lack sufficient attention. Packaging design based on sustainable development strategy must study its environmental protection as an important aspect when selecting packaging materials. Starting from the strategy of sustainable development, we must comprehensively consider the three elements of material performance, economy and environment (including resources, energy and environmental protection). In other words, the balance between the environmental coordination of materials and the performance and cost of materials must be fully considered

(1) using green packaging materials

Because green materials have environmental coordination, the selection of green packaging materials can not only effectively reduce the harmful impact of packaging waste on the environment, but also improve the utilization efficiency of raw materials and energy in the whole process of packaging production, use, recycling and reuse

paper is the most widely used green packaging material at present. Paper has good green characteristics, a wide range of raw materials, and is easy to decay in the natural environment. It can not only recycle recycled paper, but also be used as plant fertilizer. It is the earliest green packaging material. Now, the recycling technology of paper is more mature. Waste paper and waste cartons can be remanufactured into secondary products of different quality and uses according to their color, composition, etc., with a high recycling rate. At present, the typical variety widely used in packaging is pulp molded honeycomb paperboard products. In particular, pulp molded products are used to replace non degradable foamed plastics and are widely used in tableware, egg trays, fresh fruit trays, industrial trays, food and semi-finished product packaging, medical appliance packaging, etc

biodegradable plastics are considered to be the most promising green packaging materials. Degradable plastic is a new type of plastic that can degrade and disappear in the natural environment without polluting the environment. Because the traditional plastic packaging materials are not easy to degrade under natural conditions after being discarded, it is difficult to be absorbed by nature, resulting in great pollution to the environment. Therefore, both at home and abroad attach great importance to the study of plastics that can be naturally degraded under photosynthesis or biological action for the production of packaging materials and agricultural films. After being discarded, this new type of plastic can be embrittled and degraded into fragments through photosynthesis within a certain period of time, and then eroded into the soil by nature and digested by microorganisms (i.e. biochemical action), which will no longer cause pollution to the environment

(2) try to reduce the types of materials used

in order to simplify the manufacturing process of packaging and facilitate the disassembly, recycling, classification and reuse of packaging, packaging design should try to avoid 2). If the double-layer corrugated cardboard made of recycled materials is used to replace it, its weight is only 25% of the wooden pallet under the condition of the same strength, which can not only greatly reduce the transportation cost, but also more importantly, this corrugated cardboard can be recycled for many times after being discarded, which can save a lot of wood and reduce the abuse and destruction of forest resources

(4) try to choose uncoated and coated materials

in modern packaging design, in order to make the packaging more beautiful and corrosion resistant, a large number of materials with coatings are used, which not only makes it difficult for the scrap materials of the products to be accurate to 0.1MPa, but also makes it difficult for us to develop some new packaging materials, and most of the coatings themselves are toxic, especially coating The plating process also brings great pollution to the environment. Such as volatile toxic solvent smell of paint, waste liquid and residue pollution containing chromium and other heavy metals during electroplating, etc. Therefore, packaging materials without coating or plating should be selected as far as possible

3. treatment of packaging waste

according to the statistics of 2000, the recycling rate of packaging waste in China is still very low, and there is still a large gap compared with industrial developed countries, so there is still great potential to be tapped. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the recycling and utilization of packaging waste, establish and improve the recycling system and use the price lever to improve the recycling price (the current low recycling price of waste packaging leads to the reduction of recycling volume and waste of resources, which should be paid attention to by relevant parties). We should also pay attention to the recycling of recycled products. Some of the recycled products can be sorted and reduced to raw materials, and then made into new packaging products. Others can also be transformed into Park seats by hand to reduce dangerous chairs and raceways of sports fields. The remaining products can also be de heated to generate energy

4. Advocate moderate packaging

at present, many countries advocate moderate packaging and formulate corresponding laws and regulations. For example, the United Kingdom limits the complexity and luxury of commodity packaging in a certain proportion. If it exceeds the requirements, it will be heavily fined and taxed, forcing businesses to simplify packaging and reduce environmental pollution
